For this special episode of Tech Disciples, we step inside the 2026 Worship & Praise Symposium, created by Chester N. Mayfield Jr. — bringing together music, worship, education, and community.
Through performances from South Central Church of Christ, Sharpe Road Church of Christ, and Southside SELAH, along with voices from throughout the symposium, we explore one simple question: Worship sounds different when…?
It’s music, conversation, community, and worship — Tech Disciples style.
FBI presents tech decycles, addressing the technological challenges of today's church.
SPEAKER_03Coming to you fresh off the 2026 Worship and Praise Symposium. I am DJ Sean Alexander. And to my right, the funky technician. I will allow him to introduce himself. You don't want me to do it this time? Steven D. Holder. Stephen D holder.
SPEAKER_18Terminator. Uh-uh. X.
SPEAKER_03DJ Terminator X. Gentlemen. Wow. Great to see y'all. Wow. I mean, where do we start with uh 2026 Worship and Praise Symposium? Much love to our brother, my brother, our brother, Chester Neil Mayfield Jr.
SPEAKER_20Jr. So yeah, Techno Typles got really blessed. We were able to partner with him in the Worship and Pray Symposium this year. So Techno Typles was on site. We're taking interviews, taking highlights, screenshot uh photos. It was a really, really great time in Chester. This is his 15th year doing this. His 15th year doing this. And uh the Worship Pray Symposium, if you don't know, the Worship and Pray Symposium is led by Chester Neil Mayfield Jr. And its purpose is designed to educate and teach us how to be better worshipers of God. Okay. So if you don't know what the Worship and Pray Symposium is, that is what it is. Um it is a musical uh event. Lots of different artists from around the area come, um, different types of music, which we will experience here. So this episode is gonna be a little different. All right, where uh our praise breaks are gonna be kind of highlighted from the groups that we're uh performing. Um I think it's gonna be good to kind of let the um I guess the voices kind of speak for themselves.
SPEAKER_03Exactly. You know, it's not we don't need to paraphrase or anything like that. We'll actually have footage of people telling themselves, talking about themselves.
SPEAKER_20Yeah. So I think we have a couple of photos we can share for the uh kind of getting us into it. Terminator, if you want to do the honors. So this was the flyer. All right, this was the flyer of the worship and pray symposium, and a couple of faces you may recognize there. Let's go on to the next one. This was the oh, okay. Let's go on to the fourth third one then, if it's not coming up. There's a man. There's your brother. Chester New Mayfield Jr. as the host and visionary of the Worship and Praise Symposium. So uh his contact information is there, and everybody will be in the credits as we always do, if you want to follow up on songs and stuff like that. Let's go to our next photo. That one is Chester on stage at the uh the Winter event, which we also had Mario McKinnon, a dear friend of ours. Yes, yes. Chester had his uh grandson and some other young men up there. He's definitely for getting the youth involved with worshiping and praising. And uh who else do we have up there? Uh uh Mansa. Mansa. Right, Crystal, the project manager, that's her son, and Malachi is up there. So good for Chester getting the young folks to participate. Yes. Let's go to our next photo. Uh no, uh, yeah, that's fine. That's all right. We will we we'll we will we'll connect. We'll connect with it. So uh we'll have some more photos throughout the event, but uh this episode is titled uh Worship Sounds Different and Terminator. I don't know if you know, but we had a special uh interviewer this episode.
SPEAKER_03We're gonna see all that. The it's always fun being able to get out amongst the people.
SPEAKER_20All right, awesome. So with that, we're gonna dive right into our uh first performance. So uh Sean, who do we have?
SPEAKER_03Okay, our first performance.
SPEAKER_20It's there. It's uh okay.
SPEAKER_03Right here, right here in front of me. South Central Church of um Christ choir. Now South Central, South Central Church of uh South Central Church of Christ brings a sh sound shaped by strong leadership, powerful voices, and a deep love for worship. Kelly Neo serves as uh the directress, helping guide the sound and the spirit of South Central's music ministry, while Shauna Watkins brings one of the most powerful voices that lets you know exactly where you are. Together, they reflect the heart of South Central, worship rooted in the faith community, and a real sense of family.
SPEAKER_09Washed in the hands of love and what he did for me calm than enough. So I trust in God, my savior, my faith. He will never, never, never fail. He will never fail. So I trust in God, my single never fail, He will never fail. All the shnow the other road to my process my steps. So this is my story, this is my song. I'm praising my risen king and savior. I trust in God He will listen He will listen Heaven Do the Two Stinkers Do the Twitch Jinkles You will never fail just forsaken Now shoot the seat back for fake Oh I trust you, I need you I should say I took the Lord, any hurt, any answer, I soak the Lord, and he hurt, and he answered, I stuck the look, and he hurt, and he has to look at the Do you trust in him? Have you called along at the minute?
SPEAKER_08You call on Jesus He heard my cry and he entered by That's why I I talked Sing the song, Kelly That's why I trust it That's why I trust it's up to love Saint Church Stock the love Lady Earth Lady That's why that's what's gonna be a little bit more than a lot of people.
SPEAKER_03From Raleigh, North Carolina, South Central Church of Christ choir performing Trust in God.
SPEAKER_20It was really nice, uh really nice video there. Two very powerful female singers there, right? Very, very powerful, Kelly Neal and uh Shauna Watkins over at South Central Church of Christ in Raleigh. They will be in the credits, and anybody who wants to um go over there and partake with their worship, please do, because uh they were truly a blessing to the uh to worship and praise symposium. So now we got some we got some interesting stuff coming up. So terminator, remember, we we like to do interviews when we are when we're out and about. Okay. And uh we had somebody else take the mic.
SPEAKER_18Do you happen to know who that was?
SPEAKER_03Oh, I wonder who that would be.
SPEAKER_20Sean with H S H it was Sean with XX, but better known as DJ Sean. That would be me. That would be you. So um, Sean, what was the question we posed to everybody?
SPEAKER_03What? You know, worship. It sounds different when. And one of the things that I was getting into is it sounds different when. It feels different when. What? What? Just feel yeah, yeah, just you know, um, so much of it is emotion. So yeah, and we had some um very interesting reactions.
SPEAKER_20All right, man. Well, terminator. Let's go ahead and roll these interview clips. See what we got.
SPEAKER_03I'm Sean Alexander from the Tech Disciples, and I just want to say, Miss Mayfield, wonderful performance to you and the ladies, the gentlemen, the musicians, just incredible. You know, we're so happy to hear you have you here at the symposium. Yeah, and one of the things we highlight is the different ways of worship. So worship sounds different when?
SPEAKER_00When you do what? When you sing, when you surrender, when you're honest, when you live, breathe, worship.
SPEAKER_13When you release, when you're giving it your all. Everything that you have, you put it into your worship.
SPEAKER_06When you're authentic.
SPEAKER_05When you in tune mentally, spiritually, and physically, you in tune with God as a totality. Mind, body, heart, soul. Worship sounds different when.
SPEAKER_01Worship feels different when you've gone through those trials and tribulations and you're sitting there and you have seen how good God has been to you, and how God carried you through, that's when worship feels different.
SPEAKER_03Worship sounds different weird.
SPEAKER_06Worship sounds different weird.
SPEAKER_13And when everybody is participating.
SPEAKER_06That's it, right?
SPEAKER_13That's it. Everybody got something to put in.
SPEAKER_06Anything. We don't care how it sounds. Worship sounds different when you lock in and think about how great God is.
SPEAKER_00And understand you wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him.
SPEAKER_03Worship sounds different when. When God is the sinner.
SPEAKER_00When you have a testimony.
SPEAKER_03Worship happens when.
SPEAKER_13When we enter the holiest of holies.
SPEAKER_03Worship happens when.
SPEAKER_13Worship happens when I'm at my lowest.
SPEAKER_03Worship sounds different and it's different. It feels different when.
SPEAKER_16When you take the time to go deep within yourself and find your own voice and your own expression through some God-given talent that you have.
SPEAKER_03Worship sounds different, it feels different when it's from the heart. We're coming at you from the 2026 worship and praise symposium. And this right here, we got the young gunners. Okay, the young gunners. They just ripped the stage. Y'all did a phenomenal, not a good, not a great, a phenomenal job of hosting tonight. Tell me what y'all feel when worship happens. You know, what does it sound like? What does it feel like? Um, it just feels like the gates open up.
SPEAKER_04Sanctified, holy, glory, yeah, all that. Worship, like Jordan said, if the gates are open, you feel a different level of connection with God that you don't just feel on your day-to-day basis.
SPEAKER_11It's just like you're calm, you're at peace, you're with one with God. So it's like in that moment everything just disappears and you're just there.
SPEAKER_03I'm showing Alexander of the Tech Disciples. We're coming at you from the 2026 Worship and Praise Symposium. And I'm joined right here by my man, Mario McKinnon, who took the ceiling up off the joint. Yes, talking about our gracious God, our way maker. And how does it feel to be here?
SPEAKER_04It feels good, man. Winstry is uh something that we actually started at Southside at the Worship and Praise Symposium about three years ago. And since then we've been doing Winstream events, you know, all over the country. We were in Miami, we were in Florida, we were I mean, we were doing it everywhere, man.
SPEAKER_03So I just have one question.
SPEAKER_04When you're going through it, when you when you when you are when you're handling that God is really a way maker unless he's here to make a way for you. So I'm in the midst of just navigating life. You know, navigating life in the midst of all of you know giving God glory, man. Because without him and who he is, you know, I don't know where I would be. I don't know where I would be. So he's different, man. He's different when you are going through it. When you're going through it, man, that's a very difficult time.
SPEAKER_03When he turns your test into a testimony, right? All right. From the 2026 Praise in the Worship Symposium, okay? I'm Sean Alexander.
SPEAKER_20Okay, Sean Alexander is an interviewer. We had a hand clap for that. I think we should have a hand clap for that, man. He did a really good job.
SPEAKER_03I appreciate the love. Appreciate the love, gentlemen.
SPEAKER_20Really good job, man. Sean was uh doing the interviews there, as we saw, and a lot of good responses from a lot of different people. Um Sean, how did you how did you like doing interviews? Like, how did you feel the energy?
SPEAKER_03Uh well the one thing that really stands out to me is that people knew, you know, and it wasn't something I was kind of um like, okay, it's gonna be interesting to see the reactions and how much time they need to react. But they were just like, bam, you know, they just were speaking from the heart, you know, bringing it up from the diagram. You know, yeah, this is you know, um how worship feels for me. This is how worship looks, you know, for me. This is how worship sounds for me.
SPEAKER_20Man, that was great. Now, let's see. Look let's uh we have a photo here. Let's see if uh yeah, right there. Let's see what we got if this is Okay, so this is Mario from the um this one guy, this last guy you interviewed right here, right? Last gentleman, yes. So you know Mario Mario is a good dear friend of ours and Oh, absolutely. Right. He's family. He is regular occurrence and just a funny guy all around, love him to death. And uh who else do we have up there? Okay, yep. This was actually at the uh so this was from the stage view, right? Looking out. Um it was a great uh great experience. Hey Terman, let's go to number five. Uh yeah, yeah, right there. Yeah, let's see what we and let's open up that first photo there and see what we There we go. Yeah, so here's what so here were the pictures. Now, for those who don't know, we had a little bit of technical difficulties because uh Sean, you actually did video interviews. All right. But you know, technology and stuff happens, so uh we made the best of it as Tech Disciples does. So uh we got the photos, and let's go to our next photo. So there's DJ Sean Alexander calling it down with our pastor, Aleander R. Thomas of the Southside, Church of Christ. Oh, yes, yes, yes. And first lady. And first lady, and of course, we got our executive minister and his wife there in that photo. Sean's taking pictures of all the big timers.
SPEAKER_03Yep, yep. That's uh my brother uh Kente Dixon, fellow eagle, and his missus, Kenitra.
SPEAKER_20Dixon. Oh yeah, Dixon. Yeah, okay, last night. Absolutely. All right, who else we got on the list, uh Terminator? Those are the young gunners. Not those are the young gunners. So how was it? So how was it with them? Because they were, you know, fairly you know, young, which is cool, but like they're in, they're worshiping, they're interacting. How did you feel their energy?
SPEAKER_03Uh well, one of the things that I really liked about how they hosted the event, especially on Friday night, and that's how they vibed with and bounced off each other. Yeah, you know, because um you can have two or three good hosts, but the synergy is off. You know, just sometimes two or more people just don't compliment each other well. Yeah. And and they just vibed and they uh kept the show moving, and you know, you just felt the energy, you know, it just brought the event to life.
SPEAKER_20Yeah, Jordan is definitely a uh a character. I like him a lot, man. He uh he he has some good uh he has some good feedback on stage as he was hosting. But Asia and Kyrie also.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah, and Kyrie, you know, it's just um it's you know interesting to be uh it's not interesting, I'm sorry, amazing to me, because I've known Kyrie and his brother Kamani, his younger brother, uh, since they were like kids, kids. Single digits.
SPEAKER_20And I'm very glad they had Asia there as well because it was nice female, nice female balance to you know the two guys there. So great. And who else we got on the list there, uh Terminator? So Israel. So this guy, he he killed it, right? Oh, his song was amazing. I think it was uh For the Lost or For the Justice. I'm gonna look it up, but his song was really good. I'm gonna try and get him on the podcast.
SPEAKER_03Uh yeah, we do. Ooh, absolutely, absolutely, you know, and uh I had really didn't, you know, I heard about him, heard about him, heard him about him. I never really realized that he is an actual member of Southside. Is he okay, all right?
SPEAKER_20Well, um hey, welcome, Israel. Let's see who else we got on the list. Oh, that one's missing. All right, go to the next one. Oh, Tim, yeah. So this uh this year, Chester, not only did he bring performers, but he brought um Tim Jackson here. Tim Jackson is actually a poet.
SPEAKER_03Yes.
SPEAKER_20And he did two marvelous pieces. Uh one of them was his daughter, and another one I got a daughter now.
unknownWhat's the one he repeats?
SPEAKER_20That's that's the one. I got a daughter. I got a daughter now. He was saying I have a daughter now. I really, really have a daughter now.
SPEAKER_03And Tim and I go way back. Oh, you know. Oh, yes. I've known Tim for years. Um, because you know, in in my radio career, I not only DJ, but also dabble in uh to poetry. You know, not personally, but just hosting and and providing the music for and things of that nature. So I've known Tim for quite a long time.
SPEAKER_20Well, Tim definitely killed it with his with his with his pieces there. And is that our last one or do we have any more? That was the last one. All right. So um yeah, we're gonna go back to seven there. And let's go with our next photo here, number two. I think we're on, because we did the first one. Oh, okay. So we did that one already, number three, rather. Oh, okay. So then we've gotten to our sessions or our workshops. We had uh brother uh Nick Glenn from the Sharp Road Church of Christ. Um and his uh wife, they did kind of a co-joint. Uh she's off the photo there, but uh Nikki, we love you. Um I hope she's in the next picture. If not, then okay, she's not okay. The Watkins. All right, but Nikki, Dr. Nikki Glenn, we love you from Sharp Road as well. Uh moving on here, we have the the Watkins from again from South Central, brother David and Shauna Watkins. They did a session, very amazing, very powerful. And if you never heard Shauna speak, you can tell her passion and drive is in it, as well as her husband's. And who else we have next? I had a session. I had a session, and I hope I didn't scare nobody too much. Yeah, I don't want to scare nobody, but I talked, I think I talked a lot of truth when it came to technology. I didn't have uh many scriptures or songs or anything like that. I was just trying to connect the dots from technology and into uh churches because there's a you know a lot people think that technology just works, but as we know, it doesn't just work and it takes a lot of backing behind it. And if you want to help enhance your worship, uh consider some technology. And who's our last photo? And of course, we have the man Chester Nefield Jr. again. So all right, man. So that is that section. We are going to roll on in to our second performance here. And Sean, who do we have?
SPEAKER_03We have Sharp Road Church of Christ, an a cappella choir. Now sharp roads worship and praise a a cappella chorus that carries a legacy that stretches back more than fifty years. Oh my goodness. Originally known as the South English Street Choral Ensemble, the group grew under the longtime direction of Michael Stevenson, developing a sound that rooted in rich harmony, strong bass, and unmistakable a cappella praise. Now, with Nikki Murphy stepping into leadership, Sharp Road begins a new chapter, honoring the foundation that came before while continuing to move the ministry forward. So here we have from Greensboro, North Carolina, Sharp Road worship and praise a a cappella chorus performing God is.
SPEAKER_20Hey, listen, now I'm not a music person, and I'm not, you know, they did great Sharp Road. Definitely check them out in Greensboro, North Carolina. Yes. Uh with Nikki Murphy. And uh according to the bio, I guess Mike Stevenson, or at least uh Pastor Torch, uh very happy for um Sharp Road and the a cappella um uh performance they did. So thank you, Sharp Road. So I just want to let everybody know we um you don't have to address your monitor or screen or phone or tablet, whatever. The the videos that you're seeing, they may be a little glitchy, it's just the format of how the original recording was done. So it's not you, it's not us, it's just kind of how it is. Uh, and we are getting better to uh to get more polished stuff out. So now we're gonna settle something because during break, uh Terminator, myself, and Sean uh were curious about um about Israel. Israel Hinton, uh, who was one of the performers who did a great, a great um uh a great performance. And Sean said that he you know went to South. I'm like, oh okay, and but Terminator and I looked at each other and we were like, hmm, okay. So this is what we're gonna do. This is what we're gonna do. We're gonna do no foot sweeps yet. We're gonna call EP. We're gonna call our executive minister and figure out what's going on here. And I'm on the cast.
SPEAKER_03I'm gonna get checked.
SPEAKER_20EP, man. Hey, what's up? So just so you know, you you're on speaker with myself, Sean, and Terminator X on the podcast. And the question is Does Israel Hinton come to Southside?
SPEAKER_16Is Israel who?
SPEAKER_20Hinton, the guy who performed that worship and praise.
SPEAKER_17Yeah, he's a member of South Side.
SPEAKER_20Foot sweeps.
SPEAKER_03Okay, all right. Now you see all this gray. I'm getting no, but I'm not crazy. I'm not seeing out yet. I'm gonna cover you later, I'm gonna cover you later. That's my fellow ego right there. I'ma cover you later. Not only did he go to Central, we were on the yard at the same time.
SPEAKER_20I think he hung up. Wow. Alright, listen, listen.
SPEAKER_03Very possible. We did a bad lunch.
SPEAKER_20We took a bad lunch.
SPEAKER_18I've never seen him, I don't think.
SPEAKER_20So, but to be fair, so we are in the back a lot, right? And I mean, I don't well, how did you find out that he went there?
SPEAKER_03Um come goes here. Uh, this is gonna shock you, Steve. But I did the interviews. Oh, you know what?
SPEAKER_20That's that's a push-pound. You can go ahead and post the comment.
SPEAKER_03All right, well in the interviewing process, that's the point to ask questions to find out more about the uh artists.
SPEAKER_20Maybe it's not online. Well, no, well, Danine and John they're doing great things, man. So um any ministry possible to get the word is what we want to do. But uh yeah, shout out to Sean for doing interviews and uh Israel, man. Yeah, let's connect, bro. Because that one song, we gotta get you on the podcast because that's the song was fire. That's almost different.
SPEAKER_03But you know, we uh we need to do an unplugged uh you know, Tech Disciples episode where he can perform live. We might have to, man. We may have to.
SPEAKER_20We need to look at that. We gotta keep that foot sweep thing going, though.
SPEAKER_09That was crazy. Okay.
SPEAKER_03What was that terminator you were saying? Oh no. Hold up, hold up, hold up. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I'm gonna let it go after this. But I know y'all would have kept it rolling. But look, if if there was just a way to capture the look on both of y'all's faces when I said that. Oh my goodness. No, it's on the U, but uh we didn't get DJ Terminator X.
SPEAKER_20Alright, well, again, thank you to Sharp Road and their performance. They will be in the credits for anybody who wants to go and check them out as well. I believe we have some more photos here. What do we got? Uh so now we have moved in. So Worship and Praise was over two days. It was over a Friday and Saturday. Friday was the kind of winter street with Mario McKinnon and all the, I guess, more of a musical event. And for Saturday was more of the a cappella. So all the pieces that we're hearing are a cappella. If you notice that there's no instruments, it's just people's voices, bass, treble, uh, wait, treble, is that a clef? No, bass, tenor, out all the frequencies of music. There you go. So that's it. Yeah, yeah. So that's very cool. So this is Kelly Neal and Shauna Watkins in South Central, as we saw earlier in our first praise break. Who's our second photo? This is Sharp Road. They are performing. Uh, I don't know if this one is God is or not, but this is them performing very lovely. I love the purple ties I have, everybody's uniform with that. And what is our last photo? Oh, this is the South Side uh choir. Uh this is them performing here. And as you can see, everybody is nice black, maroon, red, nice, nice color coordinating going on here. You can see uh Mamasita, you know, to the far left over there. Oh, holding it down as she always does. Yes. Indeed, indeed. So um, all right. So that is it for these photos here, and we are going on to our next interview uh segment, which Sean was so powerful enough and getting all the right answers from people. Uh so um so uh anything you want to kind of brief us on before these interviews? Because this the these ones we do have video, so we do have the videos for for these interviews.
SPEAKER_03Um no, I just just what I stated earlier. Uh I I just um, you know, a lot of times when you're interviewing people, and you know, one of the things that you don't know behind the scenes is sometimes a lot of times you'll get the questions beforehand. The person being interviewed will get the questions beforehand. This was just bam. And I'm just you know, I was just blown away by the reaction time. When people were just like, you know, and you can tell that um that it was just the authenticity how quickly they were able to react and go into detail. And answer these questions, you know. All right. Worship sounds different, feels different, hits different.
SPEAKER_20When? Yeah, yeah. Well, let's keep it rolling, man. Let's see what Sean's next uh interview or how his next interviews go uh right now.
SPEAKER_11Shauna Watkins, Kelly Neal.
SPEAKER_03The stage right now is still smoking from then doing their thing. Gotta check out the video clips because Shauna right here has the smoothest takeoff. You know, really, she'll just be, you know, she'll just be winding up all of a sudden, like shoot, like a 747. I'll let her introduce herself.
SPEAKER_07I'm Love Cooper from Memphis, Tennessee. Big L O U V E S V.
SPEAKER_03And this young lady right here, she just brings it. Okay, with a capital B pair. We have Brother Dublin and his family, representing the South Central Church of Christ.
SPEAKER_17Uh Michael Dublin Sr. That's it.
SPEAKER_14And I'm CC Dublin, Michael's wife. And I'm Ken Ken Dublin. Michael's daughter.
SPEAKER_03Let me just have one question for you. Worship sounds different. It feels different. It's different.
SPEAKER_17When I'm in my lowest point, I recognize that that is when Jesus and I are closest. Worship sounds different. It's different.
SPEAKER_03It feels different.
SPEAKER_00When you are alive with the Father, there is no distraction.
SPEAKER_11It feels different when you know your life.
SPEAKER_03Worship feels different.
SPEAKER_14When you're feeling low and in the valley sometimes, that's the time when worship really comes alive for me.
SPEAKER_07When I love to praise. I love to praise. Yeah, it it that's it.
SPEAKER_03Okay. When she gets the opportunity to praise. Just as simple as that. I'm Sean Alexander of the Tech Disciples coming at you from the 2026 Worship and Praise Symposium. And I'm here with the man, the myth, the legend, the architect, the visionary. Really? My brother. Yes, sir. My brother. Yeah, man. Chester Neal Mayfield Jr.
SPEAKER_15Yes, sir.
SPEAKER_03Man, congratulations on another wonderful event. Number 15. I'll let you speak.
SPEAKER_15It's been a magnificent occasion. I can't even speak how well God has done. Because God brought all of this together. He planted the seed in me, but it's what he's been doing in working with the people, bringing all of this together, the tech disciples and the team, the presentation, the in-house sound, the stream, and all of that kind of stuff. God has brought together all of these gifts, talents, and abilities that have been offered to him to get the word out about Jesus.
SPEAKER_03Well, I'm just gonna simply state one thing.
SPEAKER_15Man, God bless you, man. I really appreciate this. I appreciate you. The voice. The voice, baby. The voice and the tech disciples, and all that you guys do as well. Your contribution is second to none, man. I'm telling you, you guys got a thing going on. Y'all better keep doing it too.
SPEAKER_03You know, and uh one of the things that we need you to keep doing is support, man. I can't tell you how much we appreciate your support. You know, uh the man right there. The uh the um yes, yes, yes, yes.
SPEAKER_09Come on, man.
SPEAKER_03Come on. Yes, yes, the um man behind the tech discipline behind in front, the visionary guy right there. Yeah, for real. The one who makes it all happen. Yeah, for real, all yes, yeah.
SPEAKER_20Chester, and everything you've done, bringing young people, bringing other people to a space where they can just express themselves and get newer types of music, newer angles of music, and just create thank you very things.
SPEAKER_15I mean, this hey brother, without what you guys do, we couldn't get the word out as effectively without what you do.
SPEAKER_03Did you ask me the question? Oh, yeah. Now I I want you to ask it this time. Want me to ask the question?
SPEAKER_15Yes, yes, come on.
SPEAKER_20The question is worship hits, sounds, and feels different when when it's all about the Lord. All about the Lord, he got it. There you go, man. Thank you so much, man. Yes, I'm headed in that.
SPEAKER_03Yes, for real. Yes, sir. Worship and praise symposium 2026. We love y'all.
SPEAKER_15Yeah.
SPEAKER_20Man, yo, that I don't know, yo, I'm glad you attacked the cypher, bro. Them interviews, you are killing it, man. That was amazing. Obviously, with the uh the video, uh, you know, we love to have that with the subtitles and um shaman used an amazing job.
SPEAKER_03Oh man, an amazing event, man. An amazing event. And um everything that you did, everything norm did does. You know, it just uh yeah, everything just came together.
SPEAKER_20Definitely want to let's give our fellow tech disciple a hand clap for those interviews. Oh thank you. Yeah, absolutely. And um also, yeah, terminator, but people may not know for the um the first segment video camera work and the one we're gonna have right um uh coming right up. Uh Terminator did the video work for that. So everybody has a part, everybody's playing it, everybody's praising God, and it's just a magnificent time. Oh my goodness. So uh, but yeah, man, those uh those interviews, yeah, they're good, aren't they? A lot of fun, a lot of fun, yes. Worship sounds different when we're gonna do our round table at the end too. So make sure you guys have your uh your your answer. So it is the time for our third performance. Remember, we're uh going off a little schedule here because this is a recap episode from an event with Detective Cycles. But uh, who is our third performance?
SPEAKER_03Yes. Now C La story begins on New Year's Eve in 2002. Oh my goodness. When four courageous teenagers, Kim Palmer, Candace Mayfield, Nicholas White, and Daryl Johnson step before our audience and sing, We Will Serve the Lord. They may have been small in number, but their love for God and their passion for worship were anything but small. Now, as the months went on, more young people joined them and just had a movement going on. And what started as one performance became something much bigger. By mid-2003, 2003, the group was official. They had a name and a ministry of their own. So here is South Side's own Sela performing Oh, How I Love You.
SPEAKER_20As Tech Disciples was a collaborative partner in that event. You can see the full uh the full concert, and it's just a little dab for you here. So um a couple of things I like to uh mention before we go to our music role here is worship can hit differently depending on where you are in life, what you have experienced, what you're carrying, and what God has brought you through. I definitely think that was one of the underlying um responses from all of the interviews, right? When you're going through it, when you're at your low, when you're you know when you're down. And um, that's what events like the Worship and Praise Symposium do they kind of educate you to be better worshippers when you're in those low moments, man. Yeah. Listen, you can only go up, especially you know if he got you. Yeah, especially if he got you. So um definitely again want to thank all the artists, all the um tech people. And um, I think we can go ahead and start our credit roll music terminator. And gents, we are going to do our round table. So once he starts, we will uh I'll ask you guys and you ask me.
SPEAKER_03So Sean, worship sounds different when uh it sounds different, it is different, it feels different. Um when you really let go and let God.
SPEAKER_20Okay, let go and let God. Terminator, worship sounds different when man, it's many I have many reasons.
SPEAKER_18Uh it could be anything from just hearing the beautiful voices, uh singing, doing service, or from going through something, or uh just uh uh thinking about the blessings that uh God has blessed me. Uh it's which got me through. It's a lot of things that gets me going.
SPEAKER_03Amen. That's me. Uh Steve. Steep in it deep older. Worship sounds different. Worship is different. Worship feels different.
SPEAKER_20I think worship feels different when you're vulnerable. Yeah. Um, when you just have nothing else to do. Yeah, we have nothing else, and then you just have nothing but God. So I think we have one final photo here. Let's put it up. That is the crew. Sean, I'm so sad we missed you, but this is the technical crew for the Worship and Prey Symposium. Where is the love? The love was the love was due foot sweeping outside. That was worth it. Go to our YouTube to see our visuals for sure. Definitely this episode, go see our visuals because we got to unbut footage and pictures. Remember our podcast platform, Spotify, Apple, iHeartRadio, and all the others.
